A survey by Travel + Leisure magazine, widely considered an international authority on trends in travel and tourism, has named The Peninsula Hotel, Shanghai, as the best in the world for business travel.
The hotel, which was awarded a staggering 97.8 score by readers, is situated on the banks of the Huangpu river. Among its many luxury attractions are a Long Court restaurant staffed with Michelin starred chefs, an open air riverside bar, and the Peninsula spa complex. Not for those watching the Christmas pennies, room rates start at around £2,500 per night.
Joseph Chong, General Manager of the hotel, remarked: ‘This is one of the most coveted awards in the global travel industry, and it is a testament to the sophistication of our cutting-edge proprietary technology and the ultimate comfort and service standards created by our dedicated team.’
It was a bumper year for Peninsula Hotels, who have premises in many of the world’s major business destinations. Seven other Peninsula hotels - in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo - were also voted amongst Travel + Leisure's top three business hotels in their respective cities.
